Bio

Ms. Smithey graduated from Mississippi College in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She graduated from Mississippi College in 2009 with a master's degree in dyslexia therapy. She graduated summa cum laude with both degrees. She is currently working on a second master's degree through the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Educational Technology Leadership.

She is certified to teach elementary education K-6, dyslexia K-12, reading K-12, mild/moderate disabilities K-8, and middle school math 7-8.

She has 20+ years of experience in education in both public and private schools in both general education and special education. She also did dyslexia therapy in private practice for a time.

She attends Life Church, a non-denominational church, in Vicksburg, MS.

Ms. Smithey enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves attending live music events.
